In their own words

Feedback from current players as well as parents about our staff and program.

I met Aaron the summer before my rookie year and I have never looked back since. A lot of athletes find time to do things off the court, but since I have met Aaron, his consistent want to be in the gym was contagious! I love basketball, Aaron loves basketball, so it was like a match made in heaven. He always had something for me to do that day, if it wasn’t ball handling, it was shooting, if it wasn’t learning a different move to add to my game, it was sharpening my tool kit. And for that, I found myself in the gym wanting to get better everyday. Not only as a trainer, he’s a great coach, an inspiration to the athletes that walk in the gym every single day, but better yet, a great person. A brother to me! As excited as I am to start the season every year, I can say that I get just as excited to get back in the gym with someone who wants what’s best for me. As I always say, “Ill see you next summer!”

Training with Coach Aaron has truly been one of the most transformative experiences for me. Coach Aaron has always been so supportive, encouraging, and respectful throughout the 5 years I have been working with him and i know for a fact I wouldn’t be the player and person I am today without him. He is one of the most patient people I have met yet he pushes me to be the best version of myself on and off the court. He always wants what’s best for his players and will do anything to help his kids reach their goals. I am so grateful to have him as a trainer and thankful for everything he has done for me.

Coach Aaron was truly one of the best trainers I’ve ever had. He not only pushed me to grow as a player but also cared for me as a person outside of basketball. I never felt like just another number—he took the time to understand my goals and tailored our workouts to my individual needs. His support and dedication were unmatched; he would show up before sunrise to train with me and always encouraged my work ethic. Because of his guidance, I grew tremendously both on and off the court, and I’m extremely grateful for the time and effort he invested in me. I know I would not have reached the collegiate level without him.

Training with Aaron was the best decision I could’ve made for my basketball journey. The early morning and late nights, him adjusting his schedule for me so I always had a way to get work in. His challenging and in depth workouts to get me ready for the college level heavily influenced the success I had in my career.

Coach Aaron has been an instrumental part of my basketball journey. I’ve been training with him since my freshman year of high school, and his time, effort, and guidance have helped me reach all my goals — including playing basketball at the collegiate level at California Lutheran University. What truly sets Coach Aaron apart is his commitment to his athletes. He genuinely cares about every individual he trains, believes deeply in long-term development, and consistently sacrifices his own time to ensure each player receives the support they need. I am incredibly grateful for his training, encouragement, and belief in me. I would not be the player I am today without him.

Training with Coach Aaron at Hoop HQ this summer was my first time working with him and it genuinely elevated my game. Not only did I improve, but I gained a new level of confidence heading into my senior season. He truly caters to each player’s style and as a shorter collegiate guard, he gave me craft and tools that actually fit my size and my role. What meant the most was how much he cares about me on and off the court. He consistently checked in on my well‑being and made sure I was growing as both a player and a person. This summer was the perfect balance of putting in work while still having fun every single day. There’s no other way I would’ve spent my summer than at the Hoop HQ with a coach who believes in me the way he does

Coach Aaron has been part of my basketball journey since I was 5 years old. He was my very first coach, and after only a couple of practices with him, I was lucky enough to reconnect with him and start training with him again this past summer. I honestly wish I had started sooner.

What makes Coach Aaron different is that he truly gets to know you, not just as a player, but as a person. He tailors every workout to your game, watches film with you, and makes sure the work translates to the court. He also makes every workout challenging, competitive, and fun.

But what means the most is his genuine care for me as a person. After I recently broke my foot, he’s continued to check in on me every week just to make sure I’m doing okay. He’s become much more than a trainer to me, he feels like family. That is what I believe Hoop HQ is about: developing better players, better people, and genuine relationships that go beyond basketball. I’m truly grateful to have Coach Aaron in my corner
